I watched the man flailing far against the tide as I sat on the beach with my knees to my chest. The sky was a single dark shade, the rocky ground was cold, and the waves were in perfect sync crashing against the stones. As for the man, I could only make out the color of his skin, which matched the grey hue of the sky.

He didn't scream, but his splashes echoed throughout the quiet air. I knew he was a goner. Going in there myself would only add to the ocean's claim, and I was the only other person out here for miles. I was trespassing—so was he—with nobody else occupying the other public spaces thanks to the clouds.

So all I did was watch, his head drifting further towards the horizon with it coming up less and less. It wasn't long till he was swallowed whole, the waves uncaring as they keep hitting the shore. His presence was soon replaced by the company of my own thoughts.

On the walk home I debated on telling my roommate, but I knew she'd judge. So instead all I could do was wish for his body to find its way back to shore, hoping I wouldn't be the only one who attended his funeral.

My own personally library one might say. Here you can find directions to my published work as well as tales you can read for free (some you can even download to PDF.) While the connecting pages might be bare as my more serious dive into the world of literature was more recent compared to my visual artistic pursuits, I'm dedicated to the growth and quality of the content that will proudly be displayed here as I become a professional author.
